Giuseppe Campisi, who is 55 years old, is both the owner and operater of Campisi’s Continental Butchery. Campisi’s Continental Butchery P/L has been operating for nearly 37 years. Guiseppe’s career started when he was given the opportunity to work with a family friend in his butchery on Railway Parade Liverpool. He left High School at the age of 15 and was not quite sure whether butchery was going to be his line of trade, but had a passion for food. He first came to this country on a boat called Galileo Galilei in August 1970 from Italy at the age of 12. he suffered from debilitating sea sickness and could barely eat anything except for a few slices of salami (that we had brought along with us from Italy) and some dry bread. Upon arriving to Australia, Giuseppe dreamed of the food from home and went on a mission to find those products in his new home. He tried purchasing the products from local shops, but could never find anything that matched the flavour or taste. His family then began to make their own smallgoods from their livestock, using the same recipes they used back in their native town of Roccella Ionica (Reggio Calabria, Italy).
